In August 2016, the City of La Verne Fire Department initiated the La Verne CERT Program with initial funding provided by State and Federal grants. The program officially launched in early 2017 with two training classes, and as of early 2020 we have trained over 150 residents how to prepare and safely respond after a disaster. In early 2019, La Verne CERT became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our goal is to establish a robust team of volunteers across the City who are fully trained and prepared to “do the greatest good for the greatest number”.
Our Mission Statement
The La Verne CERT Program will provide education and assistance in disaster preparation and response to members of the community to safely help themselves and others until professional responders arrive. When called upon, La Verne CERT will provide a trained team of volunteers to respond and assist after a disaster under the direction of the LVFD and provide additional safety during community events.
Vision
A prepared resident in every neighborhood and a robust well-trained Team capable of responding when called upon.
