About Us

In August 2016, the City of La Verne Fire Department initiated the La Verne CERT Program under the direction of Fire Chief Pete Jankowski and his Assistant, Lauren Burtz. State and Federal grants provided the initial funding.  The program officially launched in early 2017 with two training classes.  We have 2 Community Coordinators who establish, organize and maintain various aspects of the program along with Lauren Burtz who is our CERT liaison to the Fire Department.  Our Executive Committee plans and guides our program and oversees our training and resources.

Our goal is to establish a robust team of volunteers across the City who are fully trained and prepared to “do the greatest good for the greatest number”.
